Here is what we wrote on Martin earlier this week: Martin (6-0, 185, 4.5) earned all-state honors last season after piling up 121tackles, 12 pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown.

Martin currently has offers from Duke, Maryland, Minnesota, Arkansas, UCLA, Louisville, Cincinnati, Tennessee, LSU, Mississippi State and Oklahoma. Martin said he doesn’t have a favorite at this point, but did say that the early leaders are LSU, Tennessee, Louisville, Cincinnati and Arkansas. His only visits this spring were to USC and Clemson, and he will visit Alabama next weekend.

Per P. Kornblut -

DB Pat Martin (6-0 192) of JL Mann says he may make a decision this weekend. "It's either South Carolina or Tennessee," said Martin.

"I may commit on the Fourth of July. I haven't decided yet and am still weighing by options."

Martin did say the commitment of Northwestern QB Justin Worley to Tennessee earlier today could affect his decision, but then said both teams are even with him.

JL Mann DB Pat Martin (6-0 192) plans to take one final visit to Tennessee and USC before making his decision before the start of the school year. Martin will be at Tennessee July 22nd and USC the following day. He's narrowed his decision to those two and said the Vols are out front right now.

DB Pat Martin (6-0 192) of J.L. Mann says he will announce his decision on August 16 at his school. Martin, who after a recent trip to Tennessee said that the Volunteers were his favorite, now says that USC and Tennessee are even. "I haven't made my mind up yet," said Martin, "but it's between those two schools." Martin will not take any other visits prior to his commitment and says once he decides, the school he chooses will be the only school he visits from that point forward. His other offers include Duke, Maryland, LSU, UCLA, Minnesota, Mississippi State, and Oklahoma among others.

PER PK -

JL Mann DB Pat Martin (6-0 192) had planned to announce a college choice between USC and Tennessee on August 16th. But Martin has decided to delay that announcement. "I'm looking to move the date back because I plan to visit South Carolina before announcing," Martin said. "I want to meet with the staff and coach Spurrier." Martin said he communicated with Gamecock recruiter Shawn Elliott thru e-mail Wednesday. And he says he talks to Tennessee coaches every day. In his mind right now, the Vols are out in front. "I want to give them (USC) a chance to recruit me," Martin said of his impending visit. "I want to give them a chance to change my mind. It's the 12th round and they've got to deliver a knockout punch. South Carolina has got to blow me away." Martin said he does not know when he'll visit USC but it won't be this week. And he's now unsure when he'll make a decision.

Looks like Martin committed to Tennessee yesterday. He said that Tennessee just recruited him harder then any other school. We can win every recruiting battle in the state.
