Here is the Q&A for our first edition of Gamecocks Fan Mail.....

Recent email from Gamecock Mark -

1. Does McEvoy leaving have any real impact on the depth at quarterback? And, does his arrest have anything to do with his desire to transfer?
No to both. Tanner McEvoy saw the depth chart and knew Connor Mitch is coming in also so he knew his chances of being "the man" under center was going to be really tough. Depth at QB is not a issue and I would say that it is the best it has ever been in the Spurrier era. This transfer was more to do with playing time than a arrest.

2. I've heard a ton about Brandon Shell in various blogs, but nothing about Brock Stadnick who was a four star recruit. Any insight into why Stadnick isn't breaking into the conversation?
Brandon Shell is a man amongst boys on the line.  Brock will likely see some playing time at tackle as he is a big body and hard to ignore. I would not expect too much from him in 2012 besides a lot of SEC experience building. In saying that, he has a bright future at USC.

Even though nobody asked me, I'd add:

#1 If McEvoy wants to pursue better playing time somewhere else, we wish him the best.  Perhaps it's for the best as well.  To compete on this team and in this conference week in and week out takes a great deal of perseverance.  The same thing is required of moving up a depth chart.  If a player isn't interested in doing one, he won't be successful at the other.

#2  Another reason you're not hearing as much about Brock Stadnick is because the coaching staff has recruited offensive line depth.  It's more difficult for a true freshman, even one as talented as Stadnick, to break into that group.

I think it's a good sign of thins to come that our offensive line isn't immediately impacted by a true freshman.
