Tyrann Mathieu of LSU, Trent Richardson of Alabama, Andrew Luck of Stanford, Montee Ball of Wisconsin and Robert Griffin III of Baylor will sit together on Dec. 10 when the 2011 Heisman Trophy is announced in New York.

The five names have been synonymous with success all season long and now we must choose who wins.

So the ballot says:

1. Robert Griffin, QB, Baylor

He threw for 3,998 yards, 36 touchdowns, six interceptions on 72.3 percent of passes completed and ran for 644 yards and nine touchdowns.

His performance in 2011 is what gave life to Baylor football.

2. Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford

Luck had the hype machine behind him and he did not disappoint.  He finished the year with 35 touchdowns, nine interceptions on 70 percent of passes completed.

3. Monte Ball, RB, Wisconsin

Ball helped lead the Badgers to a Big Ten title and an upcoming Rose Bowl appearance against Oregon.  For 2011, he was a “TD” machine has he accumulated 38 total touchdowns and is on pace to break 1988 Heisman winner Barry Sanders’ touchdown record of 39. Ball averages over 135 yards per game on the ground and was the nation’s fourth leading rusher.
