The SEC Power Poll is in full effect for 2010 and below is the LOHD ballot after seeing Week One of SEC action.
The rankings are based on performances mainly from week one but there is some slight leanings involved on how they will end 2010. They're ranked from best to worst:
1. Alabama Crimson Tide
The Tide rolled against a lesser opponent but made it look easy minus the Heisman winner.
2. South Carolina Gamecocks
What QB controversy? Garcia and the offense rolled while the defense held a perceived stellar USM offense in check.
3. Georgia Bulldogs
A redshirt QB lead this effort? Richt’s boys helped cool his seat and the 3-4 defense looked nasty.
4. Arkansas Razorbacks
Mallet and boys are doing what most expect. I can hear Ryan singing “Taking Care of Business….”
5. Mississippi State
I think this is the highest I ever ranked MSU. Is Dan Mullen building a future contender in the SEC West?
6. LSU Tigers
Les Miles tried to lose at the end and until that point they looked solid from top to bottom.
7. Florida Gators
It was not pretty. In fact it was an ugly win but the Ghost of Tebow and some defense aided them to victory.
8. Auburn Tigers
Hello Cam Newton, Auburn is so glad you are here. Defense - where were you?
9. Tennessee Volunteers
Cool down Vol nation it was like beating up a Cub Scout troop.
10. Kentucky Wildcats
It was the Cardinals and in theory the Wildcats should have done more damage but then again it is UK football.
11. Vanderbilt Commodores
Thank Ole Miss for this ranking.
12. Mississippi Rebels
Need I explain this? If so call Jacksonville State.
