71 is the most points scored by a Gamecock last season. Not surprisingly, it was the kicker, Jay Wooten. Second on the team was Marcus Lattimore with 66 in only a few games played.
Wooten has moved on and will need to be replaced. He wasn’t called on to kick field goals often but he made the big ones when they were needed. A steady kicker is nothing to be taken for granted, and USC better have that sorted out before they take the field in Nashville.
