South Carolina Defeats Presbyterian: The Good, Bad and Ugly Edition

The South Carolina men's hoops squad defeated the Presbyterian Blue Hose by the score of 76-60. USC is now 9-3 for the 2012-2013 year. The Gamecocks will return to the court next Saturday against South Carolina State at Colonial Life Arena for a 1:30 p.m. tip off with television coverage by Fox Sports Net.

Before the team begins to think of the Bulldogs, here is the "Good, Bad and Ugly" of the PC win:

The Good

The surprise play of sophomore Damien Leonard, who had 15 points and six rebounds. The Gamecocks need him to be a solid contributor and it was a delight to get this kind of production from him to conclude 2012.

The Bad

I am left wanting more from Eric Smith, epecially when Bruce Ellington and LaShay Page are out of the contest. In 28 minutes of play, Smith had only 3 points. He really needs to step up.

The Ugly

USC was outscored "in the paint" by PC in the second half. I know the win seemed safe but this is PC folks and at no time should a team like that beat USC inside by the tune of 16-8.
